Karathozhuvu Agraharam, famous for Samaveda Dikshithas, were descendants of Srimad Appayya Dikshitendra. Suryanarayana Poundrikar (Neelakanta Dhikshitar’s elder brother’s grandson), a vedic and Sanskrit scholar from Palamadai came to Kozhinjivadi to teach Veda, Vedanta and Sanskrit to the kins of Ramu Sastrigal. The current Agraharam has been given by a Mirasdar’s wife to Poundrikar for his timely help during her husband’s death. This Agraharam was famous for performing many Yagna’s. Our ancestors have performed Garuda Chayana Yaagam in this very auspicious Agraharam.

The temple enclosure is at the site where the yagna was performed and comprises of

3. Appayya Diksitar – added during in 2013 Kumbhabishekam
